It's kind of like Facebook, you didn't really want one at first, but everyone else made one, so you decided you’d make one, too. That's kind of how I was feeling about blogging. I mean, it seems like everyone and every company nowadays has a blog. I was thinking, “Who honestly wants to sit and read other people’s thoughts?” I started doing some research and looking through other people’s blogs. I must say, I was actually surprised how interesting some can be. I mean, some bloggers really let their personality shine through their blog entries and I found myself really relating to them and laughing at their jokes.
It's strange because you can kind of get to know a person through his or her blog...you can usually see a person’s character through his or her writing, thoughts, and opinions. That's why I finally broke down and decided to make my own blog. Sure it will be a time commitment, but, like every other meaningful commitment in my life, I’m sure it will be well worth it.
Since becoming a REALTOR®, I’m learning the importance of first impressions and the priceless skill of networking. If you were to go on a job interview, perhaps, and you knew the name of the person who was interviewing you, you could try and look up his or her blog prior to the interview. To me, I would feel a lot more confident going into that job interview once I read through someone’s blog because, as I said, it’s like getting to know them.
That’s exactly what I am hoping to do with all of my readers. I want to get to know you, hear your thoughts, and answer your questions. I hope that by following my blog, you will get to know me better, too. I’m not looking to shamelessly generate leads (although I probably wouldn’t complain); I just want to be a resource for you…someone you can trust and depend on.
Well friends, I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts and advice with you, along with real estate topics and current events. Hopefully we will learn many life lessons from one another. I hope to even have a guest blogger every now and then to keep things interesting!
Thanks for reading!
